Supervers.be is a Limburg-based online fresh food shop, home delivering products from more than thirty local traders.  The range consists of more than 1500 unique items, including fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and bread, but also preprepared meals, you name it.

Owners Rob, Jan and Christopher were inspired by a shared desire to buy higher quality food without losing time.

Supervers was created to make local and artisanal high-quality food more accessible. The name means ‘super fresh’, what we strive to deliver every day.

Since the launch in 2021, the online shop has seen enormous growth with more than 20,000 orders already placed. Sales also increased by almost 40% in 2022. The founders therefore want to expand their online fresh food shop.

The figures are important, of course, but our customers’ motivations are perhaps more important still,” says Rob Reculé from Supervers “Our customers consciously choose high-quality products from local specialists. This spring we investigated whether the same motivation could be found in other regions and the results were clear. The first expansion will be in the Campine region.

Transport & Logistics Ghent

To get the local products to customers in a safe, environmentally conscious and practical way, Rob, Christopher and Jan were looking for a partner that could develop packaging for them to fit with their way of working, values and logistical processes. 

We discovered Topa last year during the Transport & Logistics exhibition at Flanders Expo in Ghent. There followed an extensive discussion with Erik Buffels, one of the packaging specialists at Topa. This discussion centred mainly on our needs and expectations. We were looking for a partner who could work with us to develop a total solution in which the cardboard itself was just one link in the chain. So it wasn’t a commercial conversation where selling boxes was the primary purpose.

With 100 years of experience, listening to the customer, working together to come up with a concept and sharing knowledge are among Topa’s strengths. Our packaging specialists aim to provide the customer with as much guidance as possible throughout the process.

What we noticed is that Topa took the time to listen to us first, and only then made a proposal. That meant we were on the same page from the start. The collaboration with Erik Marco was very smooth and personal.

Less cardboard

Regular customers at Supervers can choose between cardboard boxes and reusable folding crates. Since efficiency and sustainability are priorities, Rob, Jan and Christopher believed the cardboard boxes should be an integral part of this story.

We wanted to find a solution that was as sustainable as possible, using the least possible cardboard. The boxes were therefore printed with a message encouraging customers to switch to our reusable folding crates. Thanks to Topa, the cardboard boxes now fit inside the plastic folding crates. This means our orders can be stacked better, higher and more safely in the warehouse and refrigerated vans. This results in reduced risk and safer transport. My partners and I are therefore 100% satisfied with the end result.
